Thanks to Mr. Bing Eberhart retired Stony Creek Metro Park Superindent. He was able to photograph the Shelden Estate before all the buildings were torn down in May 1981.The only building left standing was the horse barn , that was taken down in 1990.Mr.Eberhart gave me these pictures in 1995.The only picture he didn't take was the horse barn and the caretaker house. These pictures were giving to me by a homeowner in Oakland Township. If your looking for some information check out the Geotours " The Shelden Estate A Self-Guided Tour".I plan on putting together a pamphlet on The Shelden Family.I will share all this information with the Stony Creek Metro Park , park office.

Shelden not Sheldon
Hi every one this blog is long time in the making .I am going to try to update you on the Shelden Estates located in Stony Creek Metro Park .Very important spelling of the family name is spelled SHELDEN not Sheldon.
The road was name before the family bought there 844 acre estate in Oakland Township.
Lets Start off with a little background about myself i been researching the Shelden Family since 1994.I have been working 19 years at Stony Creek Metro Park, as a seasonal employee.I discovered the walkway in the pines in 1986 while walking my dog .As you walk through the pines it takes you through to the fence in area, stone steps and then to the archway . I will try to answer the many questions people have regarding this hidden jewel in Stony Creek .I will include maps and pictures of Shelden Estate "Green Hill Farm".
