Why? I see you liked Sunshine. Would you rather see the zoo close? I would be heart broken and lost without our zoo. The funding that the City of Detroit stopped has to be filled. The zoo and the water tower are City of Detroit property and the name cannot be changed by the society, only the city and that will only happen at the next mayor election, or mayor ejection by city residents.

If you look at all the zoos around us, the in force millage our zoo has the lowest. Potter Park in Lansing if I remember correctly is 1.68 miles. Our zoo does such a great job with admissions and donations, corporate rentals, weddings that a small millage is needed.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Also, I am not the type that normally votes yes for more taxs. This is the first time in my life I am voting yes. Brooks Patterson of Oakland County normally does not support higher taxs, but does support this one...
